Jennifer Lopez on American Idol (4/11)
April 12, 2007Jennifer Lopez really surprised me on American Idol Monday night. She came across as a good mentor which I found to be shocking considering she is always portrayed as a self centered evil bitch. Then again, is she really going to go on American Idol and show her true self? Doubtful. I was very impressed with her, she seemed down to earth and gave all the contestants good advice.
Sadly, her performance was less than enjoyable in my opinion. Not only did she sing in Spanish, which I don’t understand, I found it to be long and boring. Maybe that was partially due to it being in Spanish but not entirely. Not to be racist or anything but we are in America, why would they have a performance in Spanish on American Idol? and worse, without subtitles? I did enjoy the contestants latin performances, probably because, firstly, I could understand them, and secondly, they sang popular songs. The fact that it was in Spanish was not the main negative, Jennifer’s performance was not exciting. She had dancers that were coreographed okay but Jennifer was standing there with her knees pointed inward most of the song, hunched over wearing what looked to me like some kind of horrible hobbit garment. Her outfit was bad all around. Of course Jennifer’s face and makeup looked incredible. She has to be one of the most beautiful women in entertainment.
All in all, it wasn’t a terrible performance. I have no idea what the song she sang was about or even what it was called. She looked gorgeous except her awful outfit, head to toe. Jennifer came across as a much cooler person than I imagine her to be but that may have been an act.

Haley Goes Home.
April 12, 2007
Instead of thirty minutes, the American Idol results show ran for a full hour. Ryan Seacrest introduced the judges and asked Simon Cowell if he slept last night after giving Sanjaya a compliment, and Cowell said “Yes.” The remaining eight American Idol finalists opened the show with a group performance of “Bailamos.”
In a new results show segment, Ryan Seacrest went to the Farmer’s Market in Los Angeles to get people’s opinion on last night’s performance show. Apparently some people in L.A. carry around homemade Blake Lewis signs while shopping for produce. After Seacrest’s interviews, Akon made a special guest appearance and sang “Don’t Matter.”
For the Ford music video, the American Idol finalists performed “Happy Together.” After Ryan Seacrest plugged the Idol Gives Back charity special and patted News Corporation (the parent company of Fox) on the back for their generous $5 million contribution, Simon Cowell appeared in a taped segment about how some of the money would go to buying Schools In A Box. In a hilarious moment, one of the African students included breasts on a drawing of Simon Cowell.
After a recap of the top eight performance show, Ryan Secrest asked the three people with the lowest number of votes to come to center stage. In the bottom three were Phil Stacey, Haley Scarnato, and Chris Richardson. After Chris Richardson’s name was announced as being in the bottom three, the audience booed.
After a commercial break, Ryan Seacrest sent Chris Richardson back to safety. Phil Stacey and Haley Scarnato remained on center stage as the bottom two. Jennifer Lopez made a special guest appearance and sang “Qué Hiciste.” After Jennifer Lopez’s performance, Ryan Seacrest revealed that after over 35 million votes, Haley Scarnato was going home.

Will Jennifer Drop the Dead Weight?
March 13, 2007
Jennifer Lopez has had her fair share of breakups, but could she be headed for another divorce?
The three-times-married diva is reportedly on the verge of another breakdown, this time with husband Marc Anthony.
The couple, who have enjoyed the most relationship success in J.Lo’s sketchy history, have reportedly been fighting since the year began.According to the New York Post’s Page Six, things could unravel for the pair because they are still childless.
A source told the newspaper, “There was a fight on New Year’s Eve.”
Another insider adds, “There was a fight after she performed at the Super Bowl, and when she had an album-listening party in Miami two months ago, there was an issue.”
The second source revealed that Anthony refused to give a speech at Lopez’s album launch party. However, Lopez’s rep dismisses the report.
She said, “They fight, sure, but everyone fights. They’re fine.”
Lopez was engaged to Ben Affleck before marrying the Latin singer. Meanwhile, Anthony has four children to two different women.

Jennifer Lopez Humanitarian
February 7, 2007
Jennifer Lopez is to receive a humanitarian award for producing and starring in a movie examining the murders of hundreds of women in a Mexican border town, Amnesty International has announced.
The singer/actress will be honoured with the Artists for Amnesty award on February 14 at the Berlin Film Festival, at which the movie – Bordertown - will debut. She will be presented with the award by Nobel Peace Prize winner Jose Ramos-Horta.
In Bordertown, Jennifer plays a journalist investigating the serial killings of women in Juarez, Mexico.
“Since first hearing of these atrocities in 1998, when [director] Gregory Nava came to me with this project, I desperately wanted to tell this story,” J.Lo said.
“I began working to ensure we made this film in order to bring the attention of the world to this tragedy and to pressure the Mexican government to bring to justice those responsible for these horrible crimes.”
The movie also stars Antonio Banderas and Martin Sheen.

Richest Women in Entertainment
January 19, 2007
Forbes released it’s first-ever 20 Richest Women in Entertainment today. Don’t expect to see your beloved reality show stars in this exclusive list, although there are few surprises. Here is the complete list with estimated net worth:
1. Oprah Winfrey, 1.5 Billion
2. J.K. Rowling, 1 Billion
3. Martha Stewart, 638 Million
4. Madonna, 325 Million
5. Celine Dion, 250 Million
6. Mariah Carey, 225 Million
7. Janet Jackson, 150 Million
8. Julia Roberts, 140 Million
9. Jennifer Lopez, 110 Million
10. Jennifer Aniston, 110 Million
11. Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen, 100 Million
12. Britney Spears, 100 Million
13. Judge Judy, 95 Million
14. Sandra Bullock, 85 Million
15. Cameron Diaz, 75 Million
16. Gisele Bundchen, 70 Million
17. Ellen DeGeneres, 65 Million
18. Nicole Kidman, 60 Million
19. Christina Aguilera, 60 Million
20. Renee Zellweger, 45 Million
With the obvious (Oprah, Rowling) topping the list, there were a few odd names in the list. Gisele Bundchen, if you didn’t know, is a Victoria’s Secret runway beauty and, even though she is not a household name, is the highest-paid model in the world. The most surprising out of the twenty would have to be Judge Judy. Maybe it’s just funny to think her lame show got her 95 Million in bullion. Either way her hard-ass antics paid-off, literally.

Will J-lo’s Ex Tell All? (12/28)
December 30, 2006

Los Angeles, CA (AHN) – Jennifer Lopez must have thought divorcing first husband Ojani Noa would be the last time she would have to legally deal with him.
However, the former waiter is still threatening to release a tell-all book about his marriage to the mega-star, who he wed before she became the international brand she is today.
Lopez is now determined to go into arbitration with Noa according to legal documents filed at the Los Angeles Superior Court on December 22.
The documents say that Noa is bound to the arbitration because of a settlement he agreed upon with the “Love Don’t Cost A Thing” singer in October 2005. The agreement stated that Noa was to remain silent about J.LO’s personal life and he received $125,000.
Initially on good terms following their divorce, and her hook-up with P. Diddy, Noa worked as the manager at Lopez’s restaurant Madre’s until she fired him in 2002. He then sued the A-lister for breach of contract in 2005.
A preliminary injunction was placed on Noa on June 30 to stop him from selling his manuscript, originally titled, “The Unknown Truth: A Passionate Portrait of a Serial Thriller”.
Noa, who is currently defending himself after he discovered that his initial lawyer was unlicensed, told the Superior Court on December 1, “I didn’t agree to it. My lawyer told me that it was the right thing to do, and I went along with it.”
He now says that he will fight Lopez to the end as, “I don’t care anymore, I [have] nothing to lose at this point.”
A hearing date is scheduled for January 29.
