Jennifer Lopez gave birth to twins early Friday, making the singer and husband Marc Anthony the parents of a boy and a girl after one of pop music’s most closely watched pregnancies.

“She’s thrilled,” Lopez’s manager, Simon Fields, told The Associated Press. He said the babies were born “just after midnight this morning.”

Fields confirmed that the girl arrived first, weighing 5 pounds, 7 ounces. “Her boy is 6 pounds even and arrived about 15 minutes later” at a Long Island hospital, he said. The location was not identified.

Ending months of speculation, Lopez confirmed her pregnancy at a Miami concert in November. Her father, David Lopez, told Telefutura’s “Escandalo TV” earlier this month that the 39-year-old singer was expecting twins.

Lopez and Anthony, 38, married in 2004. The twins are her first children, and his third and fourth.

Pregnant Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are set to receive a record $6 million for the first pictures of their twins.

The ‘Do It Well’ singer – who is rumoured to be due on February 23 – has reportedly secured the highest price ever paid for celebrity baby photos following a deal with People magazine.

The staggering sum will be shared with OK! magazine, who will print the pictures in their 15 international editions.

A spokesperson for the OK! magazine said: “It is fantastic for these international markets, and especially important with the immense strength the exclusive will bring to the new launch of OK! Spain.”

Christina Aguilera is said to have received $1.5 million for posing with newborn son Max Liron Bratman on the cover of People magazine, while Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie received $4 million for pictures of their biological daughter Shiloh.

J.Lo kept coy when first asked if she was expecting, and that air of mystique continued Tuesday as rumors swirled that a pregnant Jennifer Lopez had checked in to North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset.

Hospital officials denied that the Bronx-born superstar who is expecting twins was there. A hospital source, however, said she was “in the house” and had checked in under a false name.

Lopez, 38, and her husband, the singer Marc Anthony, live in Brookville and announced in November they were expecting.

Rumors circulated throughout the hospital Tuesday that Lopez, who has not announced her due date, was there.

Visitors to the hospital in recent days have reported hearing staff talk about “the J.Lo room,” and — no surprise — it’s a little more lavish than what you find in the average maternity ward. The brand-new room, probably located on the existing maternity floor, is said to feature wood flooring instead of standard-issue hospital linoleum, and two flat-screen TVs.

Officials Tuesday repeatedly denied she was at the hospital, and a representative for Lopez could not immediately be reached for comment.

“She is not in the hospital,” said hospital spokeswoman Adina Conn. “She is not here under a pseudonym.”

But rumors circulated on the Internet over the past two days that Lopez was getting ready to give birth. On Monday, USmagazine.com reported that Anthony’s representatives said that online reports that Lopez was in labor were “not true.”

“We have been getting the same phone calls since last week,” the rep told Us. “Everybody figures it is happening around now, so they have started throwing out the story hoping they will be right and be the one to break the news, but it isn’t yet.”

Lopez and Anthony have been married since June 2004.

Meanwhile, the parking lot was quiet at the hospital Tuesday, and business seemed as usual.

Lopez is apparently having twins, as Real LI has noted — a boy and a girl. And the mother-to-be has set up one of three nurseries at the Brookville home.

Baby boutique Petit Tresor was designing the nurseries on Long Island and in Los Angeles and Miami with “traditional sleigh cribs and Ultrasuede gliders from Europe,” as well as “silk and organza sheet sets” with the babies’ names embroidered on the linens “later on.”

Says a source: “She’s very involved with everything. Her taste is very elegant … very luxurious.”

More evidence that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are expecting twins, as the couple celebrated Jen’s pregnancy with a pink and blue-themed baby shower this weekend.

Held on the rooftop of the Gramercy Park Hotel in NYC, Jen and Marc were surrounded by pals Leah Remini and designer Roberto Cavalli, who reportedly gave Jen what every baby girl needs — a pink leopard-print crib. And nothing but the best for the mom-to-be, of course, as the party room was covered with Swarovski crystal.

A witness who saw Jen and Marc arrive said Jen “looked very pretty – and very pregnant.”

I bet. Jen looked very pregnant at three months along. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were four babies in there.

I have read so much speculation about this baby shower and I am sure it will be everything and more than we expect. Jennifer looks amazing, Marc, well, he looks like a walking corpse but I have to say, I have seen him look much worse. I am not sure I love Jennifer’s sloppy up-do but she pulls it off. Heck, she is large and she still looks incredible. Check out those legs, no cankles. Most pregnant ladies I know end up with bloated fat woman legs/feet but not Jennifer, even eight months pregnant she has sexy legs!

Jennifer definitely looks like she is showing a lot in this picture. Not sure if it is the angle or if it is the belly but it certainly looks like it’s the belly. She has clearly been trying to hide her bump for a while and it is starting to get A LOT harder… I am happy for her and Marc. Hopefully the baby looks like Jennifer, she is gorgeous. Imagine it comes out looking like a little Marc? That would be interesting.

Jennifer is such a beautiful woman but I don’t find this dress to be very flattering on her. I actually don’t imagine that it would be very flattering on anyone. It also definitely leaves some room for the pregnancy rumors to spread. What do you think? Is Jennifer expecting? I hope she is, she is at the age where if it doesn’t happen soon, it probably will not happen. I heard stories of people getting pregnant at 50 but that is one person out of a billion. It really is not common.

After baby bump rumours started circulating last week, a source claims that Jennifer Lopez has had an ultrasound confirming she’s 12 weeks pregnant.

Jennifer, who has made no secret of her desire to have a baby with husband Marc Anthony, was spotted sporting an abdominal bump at her ‘justsweet’ show at New York Fashion Show last week.

The source has told In Touch Weekly that days later, on 12th September, she visited Beverly Hills fertility specialist Dr Robert Katz for the scan: “The test calculated that she was about 12 weeks pregnant.”

The source added that Jennifer and Marc may be in for a further surprise: “The way the fetus is lying made it difficult for the doctor to tell if there was more than one baby in there.”

When contacted about the news, Marc’s spokesperson denied the story, telling the New York Daily News: “Everyone calls about this every month with the hopes that they’ll hit the mark but no. No.” In Touch stand by the story.

After posting those bikini images of Jennifer on the set of a video, then seeing these images from just a few days ago, I have to ask myself, where did these large boobs come from? I know Jennifer always had amazing medium sized breasts but in more recent photos they seem to look larger. Of course it is possible that it is the dress or some kind of pushup action but I don’t know. I tend to think everyone is fake. I do think Jennifer looks incredible and she has some damn perky breasts. We have to keep in mind she is nearing 40 and she looks better than most 25 year olds. I am going to keep an eye on these boobs. I would be surprised if she altered her body because I thought she looked amazing but she has the means to do whatever she wants so let’s not be stupid and assume she never considered fakes. More to come after further evaluation… Oh and you guys are lucky I didn’t post the pics of Jennifer with Marc Anthony, he looks like a corpse as usual.
