Keira Knightley’s relationship is reportedly on the rocks because she is refusing to wear an antique ring lover Rupert Friend bought for her.

‘Pride and Prejudice’ star Rupert gave the antique white-gold ring to Keira as a “symbol of their love”, and has been left hurt by Keira’s decision to wear expensive Chanel jewellery instead.

A source close to the pair said: “Rupert bought Keira this antique ring at considerable expense and while it’s not an engagement ring, he intended it to symbolise their love for one another.

“But, as the face of Chanel, Keira has obviously been inundated with very expensive jewellery from its fine jewellery collection and has chosen to regularly wear one of its rings instead of the one bought for her by Rupert.

“As a result, the word is that he’s made his feelings made known to Keira.”

Rupert and Keira – who are rumoured to have been dating since December 2005 – are now said to be attempting to get their relationship back on track following the incident.

The source added to Britain’s Daily Express newspaper: “It seems these could be testing times for Keira and Rupert. They are both young actors with their careers still very much ahead of them so relationships are never going to be straightforward.

“Hopefully they will work things out.”

I try to dislike her because everytime she opens her mouth I nearly have to roll my eyes but this is why I can’t stop loving her. She is gorgeous.

Keira Knightley has vowed never to live in Hollywood because it’s a city with a one-track mind.

The British actress says she loves living in London because of the cosmopolitan lifestyle there helps her development as an actress – something Tinseltown could never manage.

She explains in a new magazine interview, “It’s a funny place – I could never live in Hollywood, because there’s nowhere to escape to. You find yourself sitting around a lot and every conversation you have is about the movies.

“I think you have to be in a city that has different walks of life that you can observe – and, for me, that’s London.”

And, despite her Golden Globe nomination for ‘Atonement’, gawd knows Keira could do with developing her acting skills

KEIRA KNIGHTLEY rejects claims she’s the brightest acting star of her generation – she’s just lucky.

The British actress, who was nominated for a Golden Globe award on Thursday (13Dec07), insists success in movies is a combination of talent and looks, but mostly good fortune.

The Atonement star says, “The thing with acting is it’s not a job where, if you go to drama school, get the best grades and work the hardest, you’re going to be successful.

“It has nothing to do with whether you’re the best or the prettiest. It takes a lot of luck.”
